World Parks Day

The third World Parks Day will take place on Saturday 18 September 2010.

World Parks Day is an opportunity to celebrate our parks and green spaces.

Any organization or individual can host a park event on World Parks Day. Just fill out the form for individuals or organizations and your event will appear in our events list.  You can have a concert, pick up trash with some friends, offer a free yoga class, hand out some plant seeds, have a picnic with family, organize a soccer game, offer a tour of the trees in the park...it is up to you!

Find an event in your area. Our goal is to reach around the globe so don't forget to tell your worldly friends.   If you don't see an event in your area, step up to the plate and create an event!

The day is organised by Parks for Life, an international initiative created by the International Parks and Green Space Alliance (IUPGSA) to:

•     Communicate the critical importance of parks in a global context
•     Promote best practice by learning  from other parks services
•     Encourage people to enjoy their local park and appreciate the importance of green space
